(創世記2:18−25 JCB) また、神はこう考えました。「人が一人でいるのはよくない。彼を助ける者がいなくては。」(19-20) そこで神は、土からあらゆる種類の動物と鳥を造り、アダムのところへ連れて来て、名前をつけさせました。それぞれみな、アダムがつけたとおりの名前をもらいましたが、アダムの助けになるようなものは見当たりませんでした。(21) それで神はアダムをぐっすり眠らせ、彼の体から肋骨を一本取り出し、そのあとをふさぐと、(22) その骨で女を造り、彼のところへ連れて来ました。(23) 「ああ、これはすばらしい！」アダムは思わず叫びました。「私の骨と私の肉から造られた、まさに私の一部です。そうだ、『男』から造ったのだから、『女』と呼ぶことにします。」(24) 人が両親のもとを離れて妻と結ばれ、二人が一体となるのはこうした背景があるのです。(25) この時、まだ二人とも裸でしたが、恥ずかしいとは思いませんでした。

(Genesis 2:18-25 NLT) Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” (19) So the Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. (20) He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals. But still there was no helper just right for him. (21) So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. (22) Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. (23) “At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” (24) This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. (25) Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.

Marriage is About Helping Each Other

(Genesis 2:18 NLT) The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” 

(箴言 31:10 JCB) ほんとうに良い妻を見つけたら、 宝石よりもすばらしいものを 手に入れたことになるのです。

(Proverbs 31:10 NLT) Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. 

2. 結婚は恥じらいなく、全てをオープンにできる関係

Marriage: There's No Shame

(創世記2:25 JCB) この時、まだ二人とも裸でしたが、恥ずかしいとは思いませんでした。

(Genesis 2:25 NLT) 'Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.'

(伝道者の書 4:9-12 JCB) 二人が手を組めば、一人の人の倍以上のことができます。結果から見れば、二人のほうがずっといいのです。(10) 二人なら片方が倒れても、もう一方が起こせます。ところが、一人のときに倒れてしまうと、だれにも起こしてもらえず、何とも惨めです。(11)また、寒い夜、二人が一枚の毛布でもかぶって寝れば、お互いの体温で暖かくなります。しかし一人では、どうにも暖まることができません。(12) 一人では、攻撃を受けると負けてしまいます。しかし二人なら、背中合わせになって戦うことができ、相手に勝つことができます。三人なら、なおいいのです。三つ撚りの糸は、めったなことでは切れないからです。

(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT) Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. (10) If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. (11) Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? (12) A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

(創世記2:24 JCB) 人が両親のもとを離れて妻と結ばれ、二人が一体となるのはこうした背景があるのです。 これが神様のデザインしている結婚だよ

(Genesis 2:24 NLT) That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
