How David developed a healthy mind

1 Samuel‬ ‭16:15-19‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Some of Saul’s servants said to him, “A tormenting spirit from God is troubling you. (16)　Let us find a good musician to play the harp whenever the tormenting spirit troubles you. He will play soothing music, and you will soon be well again.”(17) “All right,” Saul said. “Find me someone who plays well, and bring him here.” One of the servants said to Saul,(18) “One of Jesse’s sons from Bethlehem is a talented harp player. Not only that—he is a brave warrior, a man of war, and has good judgment. He is also a fine-looking young man, and the Lord is with him.” (19)So Saul sent messengers to Jesse to say, “Send me your son David, the shepherd.” Mindset #1 Make today a winning day. John 10:3-5 TPT And the sheep recognize the voice of the true Shepherd, for he calls his own by name and leads them out, for they belong to him. (4) And when he has brought out all his sheep, he walks ahead of them and they will follow him, for they are familiar with his voice. (5) But they will run away from strangers and never follow them because they know it’s the voice of a stranger.” Mindset #2 Fight for what's important. 1 Samuel 17:34-35 NLT But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, (35) I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death. 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 NLT So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadow boxing. (27)I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. Mindset# 3 Full of peace in a world of unrest.  1 Samuel‬ ‭16:23‬ ‭NLT ‬‬ And whenever the tormenting spirit from God troubled Saul, David would play the harp. Then Saul would feel better, and the tormenting spirit would go away. John 14:26-27 TPT But when the Father sends the Spirit of Holiness, the One like me who sets you free, he will teach you all things in my name. And he will inspire you to remember every word that I’ve told you. (27) “I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!
